Good news on Sakchai Makao

The BBC reports that Sakchai Makao (see here and here) has been released on bail from Durham City Jail, pending an appeal against the deportation order served on him on 7 July. Hopefully the corner has been turned.

I'm Thai & living in Thailand. I once studied in the U.K. and I know when something goes wrong with your visa, the home office gives you a hard time. Luckily, I never had one.

I don't know if it's right or wrong, but essentially the Shetlanders accept Sakchai as one of them. What important to me in this case is that the law did its job and he worked his way to be set free. Fair enough.

Congratulations, Sakchai. It's good to be loved and have true friends. And you've certainly won their heart.

Thanks, Anon. I agree with you on both counts.
