Edinburgh: a cycling city

I would like to commend the benefits of Edinburgh as a cycling city. We live within 200 metres of a cycle path in North Edinburgh, and this morning we cycled nearly 30 miles from our flat out beyond Edinburgh airport, round and back again, with literally about 5 miles on minor roads and absolutely no miles on busier ones. The rest of the miles were on railway paths, towpaths, and other miscellaneous car free paths. Even BondBloke, famous for hating the car when he is not actually behind the wheel, seemed well satisfied with our efforts. These efforts are all in the aid of being able to do something like this come the summer and not die... We'll keep you posted on the progress.
